Joint Inspection Campaign Targets Violating Facilities Outside Industrial Cities

Riyadh: The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, carried out a joint inspection campaign targeting a number of violating facilities located outside industrial cities.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the campaign covered 81 facilities in Riyadh, Makkah, Dammam, and Jeddah. It aims to enhance compliance with regulations governing industrial activities and municipal and environmental requirements, thereby improving the investment environment, strengthening governance, and supporting sustainable industrial development in the Kingdom. The campaign also seeks to improve the urban landscape and reduce irregular practices.

Several regional municipalities participated in the inspections, which included 23 facilities in Riyadh Region; 38 facilities in Makkah Region; and 20 facilities in Eastern Region.

During the campaign, the joint teams recorded 110 violations and took legal measures against the offending facilities in accordance with each ministry's jurisdiction. Violations included expired licenses, operating without a license, failure to meet municipal and environmental requirements, storing raw materials unrelated to the production process, practicing industrial activities without the required certificate of conformity, and a lack of safety equipment.

The two ministries affirmed that joint inspection campaigns will continue to ensure compliance among facilities operating outside industrial cities, to maintain a safe and sustainable industrial environment.
