Port louis: The Islamic Development Bank Institute (IsDB), in partnership with the Awqaf (Mauritius) Foundation, has successfully concluded a three-day International Waqf Conference in Port Louis, Mauritius. The event was held under the theme "Reviving Waqf for Community Empowerment: Building Strong Waqf Foundations through Strategic Management, Good Governance, and Sustainable Investment."
According to Saudi Press Agency, the conference saw participation from delegations representing Comoros, Madagascar, Malaysia, Singapore, the Maldives, Mozambique, R©union Island, Seychelles, South Africa, Tanzania, and the United Kingdom. Representatives from non-governmental organizations and community leaders were also in attendance, contributing to the discussions.
Throughout the conference, participants engaged in discussions on various topics such as investment and economic principles of Waqf, governance models, and asset development strategies. The agenda also covered Islamic finance methodologies, practical solutions, legal documentation, and the role of Waqf institutions in promoting transparency, accountability, and achieving sustainable social impact.
