Riyadh Municipality Launches Second Edition of ‘Azwah’ Award to Promote Volunteerism

Riyadh: Riyadh Municipality today launched the second edition of the "Azwah" Award for the municipal sector for 2026, aiming to recognize outstanding community initiatives, promote community participation, and foster a culture of volunteerism, in line with Saudi Vision 2030's goals of improving quality of life and building a vibrant society.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the municipality invites individuals, volunteer teams, government agencies, non-profit organizations, and private sector establishments to register through the award platform from today until October 12, 2026. Participants can submit their initiatives and experiences across four competitive tracks: municipal volunteering, community initiatives, social responsibility, and cultural participation.

The second edition builds on the success of the first, which saw more than 2,800 initiatives registered, 265 participants compete, 17 winners recognized, more than 1,000 visitors attend the award forum, and over 3 million impressions recorded across social media platforms. These figures reflect growing awareness of the importance of community engagement in municipal affairs.

This year's award is part of the municipality's efforts to expand community participation and build effective partnerships across various sectors, in line with its vision of becoming a leading municipality for a prosperous and sustainable city that enhances the quality of life.
