Riyadh: Countries around the world observed International Tea Day on May 21, highlighting the beverage's role in economic and social development and its deep cultural roots. The day aimed to support local tea production and farming communities by hosting seminars and workshops focused on cultivation practices, processing methods, and health benefits.

According to Saudi Press Agency, tea is among the oldest beverages known to humankind and has long served as a cultural bridge between civilizations. In the Arab world, tea remains central to daily routines and social customs. It is also one of the most widely consumed drinks globally, with over 50 countries involved in its production. Leading producers include China, India, Kenya, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam.
