Hanoi: Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar bin Ibrahim Alkhorayef concluded an official visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, during which he led a high-level delegation from the industry and mining system. The visit aimed to strengthen bilateral economic ties, develop cooperation in the industrial and mining sectors, and explore mutual investment opportunities in several strategic areas.
According to Saudi Press Agency, during the visit, Alkhorayef met with senior Vietnamese government officials, including the deputy prime minister and the minister of industry and trade. The discussions addressed ways to deepen relations between the two countries in the industrial and mining sectors and to enhance cooperation in research, innovation, and advanced manufacturing technologies, including artificial intelligence.
The minister held bilateral meetings with leaders of major Vietnamese companies and institutions, including the Vietnam Association of Foreign Invested Enterprises, VinFast, Masan Group, and Southern Food Corporation. The meetings addressed expanding investment partnerships and transferring technology in promising sectors such as mining, electric vehicles, the food industry, and halal products.
Alkhorayef participated in the Saudi-Vietnamese Business Forum, where five investment agreements were signed between Saudi and Vietnamese companies in several fields, including construction, infrastructure development, furniture manufacturing, and human resources development.
The official visit of the minister of industry and mineral resources to Vietnam aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to transform the Kingdom into a leading industrial power and a global hub for mining and minerals. These will be achieved by building international partnerships, transferring advanced technologies, and attracting high-quality foreign investments.
