IMCTC to Launch Program in Chad to Strengthen Counter-Terrorism Financing Capacities in Sahel States

N'djamena: The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) is set to launch the Sahel Countries Program in N'Djamena from July 14 to 15. This initiative will occur under the patronage of Chadian Minister of Armed Forces, Veterans and War Victims Issaka Malloua Ndjamous.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the program includes a specialized workshop titled "Effective Implementation of the UN Security Council Resolutions, UN Conventions and Other Relevant International Standards." The initiative aims to enhance the national capacities of Sahel countries in combating terrorism financing and money laundering by providing security, military, and regulatory personnel with tools aligned with international standards.

The workshop will gather experts from security, regulatory, financial, and judicial sectors to discuss key challenges facing member states. They will review successful models and propose practical mechanisms for regional cooperation and coordination, ensuring the effective implementation of UN Security Council resolutions and UN conventions.

This initiative is part of IMCTC's broader efforts to create robust national and regional mechanisms to combat terrorism financing. It aims to support security and stability in the Sahel region through an integrated approach addressing ideological, media, financial, and military aspects of counterterrorism.
