Riyadh: The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) today launched a program in northern Maldives titled "Addressing Radicalization in the Educational Environment: Applied Models".
According to Saudi Press Agency, twenty-two trainees from academic and educational institutions are participating in the program, which falls under the coalition's 'Prevention' initiative, a strategic intellectual program implemented across IMCTC member states.
The program aims to raise awareness of the dangers posed by extremist ideology within educational settings and to equip participants with the scientific and pedagogical tools needed to identify and address manifestations of deviant thought among youth. The sessions are being led by a group of experts specializing in intellectual and educational disciplines.
The program features a series of workshops and interactive lectures focused on detecting and addressing extremist tendencies through educational approaches that foster tolerance, moderation, and coexistence.
The initiative forms part of IMCTC's broader efforts to strengthen national capacities in its member states and to support their comprehensive strategies for combating extremism and terrorism intellectually, in the media, militarily, and financially, in line with the coalition's mission to promote cooperation and integration in confronting extremist ideology.
