Human Resources Minister Inaugurates 3rd Global Labor Market Conference

Riyadh: Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Ahmed Al-Rajhi inaugurated the third Global Labor Market Conference (GLMC) in Riyadh today, with the participation of ministers of labor, policymakers, and experts to discuss challenges facing labor markets.



According to Saudi Press Agency, the minister emphasized in his opening remarks that global labor markets are rapidly transforming due to technological advancements, demographic shifts, and changing skills requirements.



Al-Rajhi noted that the conference highlights Saudi labor market progress under Vision 2030 and fosters global dialogue on workforce transformation by drawing on international experiences.



On the sidelines of the conference, a ministerial meeting took place with the participation of the labor ministers. The discussion focused on the major challenges facing labor markets, including technological transformation, skills development, the informal economy, improving job quality, empowering youth and women, and promoting inclusivity.



The ministers at the meeting emphasized that human capital investment is central to economic growth, called for flexible policies to address the fast-evolving labor market, and underscored the need to turn discussions into tangible actions through collaborative programs and partnerships with global organizations.



The conference will feature the participation of over 40 labor ministers and more than 200 international speakers, attracting more than 10,000 participants from both within and outside the Kingdom. The program will include more than 50 sessions and events, highlighting the GLMC’s significant role as a global platform for shaping the future of work.
