Heavy Rain and Flash Floods Forecasted in Southern Regions of Saudi Arabia

Jeddah: The National Center for Meteorology has predicted heavy rain, which may lead to flash floods and is expected to be accompanied by hail and dust-stirring winds, in the regions of Jazan, Aseer, and Al-Baha. Makkah, Madinah, and Najran regions are also expected to experience moderate to heavy rainfall.

According to Saudi Press Agency, light to moderate rain along with gusty winds is anticipated in the southern parts of Riyadh and the Eastern regions, as well as the Tabuk Region. The forecast details the wind patterns over the Red Sea, with northwesterly to northerly winds expected in the northern part, and southeasterly to southwesterly winds in the central and southern parts, blowing at speeds between 25-45 km/h. Sea conditions will vary from calm to choppy, with wave heights ranging from one meter to two and a half meters.

In the Arabian Gulf, the winds are expected to be northwesterly to northerly in the northern and central parts, and easterly to southeasterly in the southern part, reaching speeds of 15-35 km/h. Waves in this area are predicted to be between half a meter to one and a half meters, with the sea remaining relatively calm.
