Riyadh: The 6th Conference of the Arab Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education concluded on Monday, bringing together over 1,000 participants from 30 countries and more than 110 Arab education institutions.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the event was hosted by the Education and Training Evaluation Commission (ETEC) under the theme 'Towards High-Impact Quality Assurance Practices: Stakeholder Engagement and Student Empowerment.' The opening ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including presidents of Saudi universities, members of ETEC's board of directors, and a host of Arab and international experts and decision-makers. The three-day conference facilitated the exchange of expertise and knowledge between Arab bodies and academics, culminating in the release of key recommendations.

Participants reviewed the Saudi model for quality in education and training, which focuses on measurement and evaluation to provide diagnostic data, enable development, and enhance quality. The model emphasizes the involvement of stakeholders and students in evaluation and accreditation processes.

Hosting the conference underscores Saudi Arabia's role through ETEC in quality assurance and academic accreditation. It also highlights the Kingdom's leadership in transforming education and training quality, leading to comprehensive practices that utilize technology and data. This transformation is reflected in the issuance of more than 500 institutional and program accreditation decisions, averaging over 40 per month during 2025.
