Riyadh: The Andromeda Galaxy was observed last night in the skies over Northern Borders Region, showcasing the clarity of the atmosphere and low levels of light pollution, making it an optimal environment for stargazing.
According to Saudi Press Agency, member of the Astronomy and Space Club, Adnan Khalifa, indicated that the Andromeda Galaxy is the only galaxy visible to the naked eye under clear skies and away from direct light sources. He noted that this phenomenon provides astronomy enthusiasts with the opportunity to observe one of the closest star clusters to the Milky Way Galaxy.
He added that Northern Borders Region is among the least light-polluted areas in the Kingdom, which supports astronomical observation activities and makes it an attractive destination for night photography enthusiasts and deep-sky exploration.
