Riyadh: The National Competitiveness Center's Public Consultation Platform, Istitlaa, has unveiled 18 projects focusing on economic and development affairs. Collaborating with 14 government bodies, the NCC is inviting feedback from the general public, government entities, and the private sector on these projects before they receive approval.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the Digital Government Authority has initiated a public consultation project called 'Cloud Computing Controls for Government Entities.' This project is designed to expedite the adoption of cloud computing services by establishing regulations concerning governance, planning, implementation, and monitoring. Feedback will be accepted until February 23, 2026.
Additionally, the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties has proposed a project on the Istitlaa platform, titled 'Procedural Guide for the Re-Evaluation of Healthcare Practitioners.' This initiative aims to regulate the reassessment process for healthcare practitioners registered with the commission, ensuring transparency and clarity in legal and procedural matters. Public feedback is open until February 23, 2026.
The Transport General Authority is seeking input on the 'Executive Regulations for Freight Transport Activities via Motorcycles for Commercial Purposes.' This project aims to organize the transportation of goods via motorcycles for commercial use, enhance service development, and promote investment, while considering environmental, safety, and security aspects. Consultation will remain open until February 28, 2026.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has introduced a project titled 'Update of Requirements for Tobacco Shops.' The initiative aims to systematically address challenges, align existing regulations with the operational realities of these establishments, and support investment growth in the tourism sector without compromising regulatory standards. Public feedback will be accepted until February 28, 2026.
The introduction of draft regulations and similar projects through the Istitlaa platform underscores a commitment to enhanced transparency in the legislative environment. Istitlaa also promotes public participation by allowing citizens, government agencies, and the private sector to provide input on proposed regulations related to the business environment.
