Zelenskyy starts visit to Turkiye

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Istanbul on Friday on an official visit upon an invitation from his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Upon arrival, Zelenskyy tweeted that he would discuss with President Erdogan a number of key issues including efforts to find a formula for peace in Ukraine, upcoming NATO summit’s agenda and the security guarantees.

He added that they would also mull the Black Sea grain deal and boosting cooperation between Ukrainian and Turkish defense companies.

After one-on-one talks at the Vahdettin Mansion, Erdogan and Zelenskyy will co-chair a meeting attended by senior officials from the two countries.

The two leaders are also expected address a joint news conference after the meeting.
