ZATCA Urges Prompt Submission of April VAT Returns by May 31

Business

Riyadh: The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has issued a call to businesses liable for value-added tax (VAT) with annual supplies exceeding SAR40 million to ensure the submission of their VAT returns for April by the deadline of May 31.

According to Saudi Press Agency, ZATCA has emphasized the importance of timely filing through its official website, zatca.gov.sa, or the ZATCA mobile application to avoid incurring penalties. These penalties can range between 5% and 25% of the tax amount that should have been declared.

In an effort to assist businesses, ZATCA has also extended an invitation to those seeking more information about VAT. Businesses are encouraged to reach out via the 24/7 call center at 19993, the 'Ask ZATCA' account on X, or through the email address or live chat feature available on its website, zatca.gov.sa.

VAT is implemented across the Kingdom as an indirect tax applied to all goods and services traded by businesses, with certain exceptions.
