Jeddah: The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) at King Abdulaziz International Airport has thwarted an attempt to smuggle 187,000 amphetamine pills (Captagon) into the Kingdom by intercepting a shipment concealing the drugs upon arrival.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the narcotics were seized during standard customs inspections using advanced security technologies, which revealed the pills concealed within cavities in a shipment of dining tables.
