Dhaka: The World Archery Asia (WAA) Congress has elected Turki Alderbi, president of the Saudi Archery Federation, to the WAA Executive Board during its meeting in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Alderbi emphasized that his representation on the board aims to enhance cooperation among Asian federations. His focus will be on improving qualification, training, and officiating programs while supporting the participation of both male and female athletes in continental and international tournaments.
This election is a significant milestone as it marks the first time the Saudi Archery Federation has been represented on the WAA's board. It reflects the increasing prominence of Saudi sports at the continental level and highlights its growing role in the development and advancement of the sport of archery in the region.
