Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, said, "We stand with all our capabilities and efforts to stop this raging war against our people in Gaza, and we speak to the whole world that what is happening cannot be ignored." Speaking to an emergency session at the Lower House on Wednesday, the foreign minister said, "There are key issues on which the whole world must hear our position, and we conveyed this position in the efforts led and are being led by His Majesty King Abdullah. This position states that there is no justification for this war, and it is a war crime according to international law, according to humanitarian law, and according to the Geneva Conventions and all their annexes, and it is a collective punishment that international law rejects, and we reject and confront." He also said, "The displacement of Palestinians from their homeland, or any attempt to do so, is a red line for Jordan, which we will confront with all our capabilities, and it constitutes a violation of international law, specifically the Geneva Convention and its 1977 annex, which clearly states that the displacement of citizens from their country is a war crime, and according to international law, Gaza is an occupied territory, and even the International Court that was established to examine war crimes committed in the former Yugoslavia also clearly stated that the displacement of civilians is a war crime." "This war will bring nothing but destruction and will bring nothing but catastrophe. Nothing justifies the killing of thousands of Palestinians. We have made the whole world listen in order to knows the extent of the disaster, as the number of civilian casualties in this war over the course of days exceeded the number of victims over the 50 days of the war launched by Israel against Gaza in 2014," Safadi added. on the displacement, Safadi reaffirmed Jordan's firm position on this issue. "We said publicly that we will not accept any displacement attempt". "We have warned repeatedly, and you all remember the King's speech at the United Nations when he said that depriving the Palestinian people of their rights, attempts to overlook the Palestinian cause, and attempts to marginalize the Palestinian cause will only push towards the explosion that we all worked to prevent. This war has proven once again that no one can overlook the Palestinian cause and it is impossible to do so, the basis of the conflict, and if this cause is not resolved on the basis that meets all the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, then we will remain subject to possibilities of violence and conflict erupting day after day," Safadi said. Safadi underscored that there is no peace, security, or stability in the region without fulfilling the full rights of the Palestinian people, and there is no security for anyone in the region if the Palestinians do not enjoy their security as well. We said and continue to say that international law should not be applied selectively according to nationality, identity, and religion. International law must be applied in its entirety. Common human values, our entire humanity says that there is no difference between a victim and a victim according to their whereabouts, or according to the place where the crime was committed, or according to the identity of the person who commits the crime. "The Palestinians are no less humane than the Israelis, and the Palestinians are no less humane than the Ukrainians, and we said and we say to the world that the international law that you have supported as a basis for all efforts to stop the Ukrainian crisis must also be applied to the Palestinian cause and to what the Palestinian people are facing. We cannot accept this double standard and we cannot remain silent about it. If there is no clear international position in rejecting and condemning this war that Israel is waging against Gaza, and working to stop it, then the impression that prevails and grows day after day among our people is that this war is a war between Arabs, Muslims, Christians and the West," the foreign minister said.
