Makkah: As the Hajj season 1446 AH approaches, local and international visitors are flocking to Makkah's Hira Cultural District to explore attractions like the Holy Quran Museum and the Revelation Exhibition, immersing themselves in the region's profound historical and spiritual significance.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the Revelation Exhibition showcases the story of divine revelation to Prophet Mohammed through interactive visual displays using virtual reality technology. Visitors can engage with events from the Prophet's life and learn about Islamic culture and historical landmarks.
The Holy Quran Museum features halls with visual exhibits, ancient manuscripts, Quranic sciences displays, and a collection of rare historical Quran copies written in various calligraphic styles. The museum houses the world's largest Holy Quran and Quran stand, both recognized by Guinness World Records. Notable exhibits include a mosaic panel featuring Surah Al-Fatihah and the beginning of Surah Al-Baqarah. Additionally, the museum displays an intricately embroidered piece of the Holy Kaaba's Kiswa, adorned with Quranic verses embroidered in silk, gold, and silver threads.
Overseen by the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites in collaboration with the Makkah Region Principality, the Hira Cultural District stands as a major cultural destination at the base of Mount Hira. Spanning approximately 67,000 square meters, the district attracts both tourists and locals, offering amenities such as caf©s, restaurants, a traditional crafts market, and various commercial facilities for visitors to enjoy.
