Dammam: Vice Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Industrial Affairs Engineer Khalil bin Ibrahim bin Salamah inaugurated the Al-Sharq Polystyrene Factory in Dammam. The inauguration comes as part of the ministry's efforts to localize downstream industries and enhance local content, in support of the National Industrial Strategy and Saudi Vision 2030.
According to Saudi Press Agency, during his tour of the facility, the Vice Minister reviewed the fully automated production lines and the manufacturing stages of thermal insulation panels. He was briefed on operational mechanisms and advanced industrial technologies that enhance product efficiency and quality. The tour also covered safety measures, sustainability practices, and energy efficiency initiatives adopted by the factory.
The factory is among the largest and most advanced XPS thermal insulation panel production plants in the Middle East and North Africa in terms of capacity, automation, and manufacturing technologies. It meets the highest sustainability, quality, and technical standards.
Covering an area of 30,000 square meters, the factory has an annual production capacity of 20,000 tons. It aims to meet domestic market demand and expand into regional and international markets. The factory also focuses on innovation and development to keep pace with global best practices in thermal insulation, strengthening the competitiveness of national products.
