Vice Minister of Environment Affirms Abundance of Poultry Products in Local Markets

Riyadh: Vice Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Eng. Mansour bin Hilal Al-Mushaiti affirmed the stability of supply chains in the poultry sector. He noted that this stability has supported increased production and the ability to meet growing domestic demand for poultry meat and its products.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Kingdom's poultry sector has achieved significant growth and record production levels, expected to exceed 1.5 million tons, with self-sufficiency surpassing 76%. This progress supports food security and contributes to the national economy in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

His remarks came during a joint meeting he chaired at the ministry's headquarters to review stock levels and projected production in the poultry sector for the coming period, including the Hajj season. The meeting was attended by representatives from the General Food Security Authority (GFSA), the Poultry Producers National Committee, and the Feed Manufacturing National Committee at the Federation of Saudi Chambers.

The meeting reviewed broiler chicken production and stock data for the first quarter of 2026. The data included figures from 10 companies representing 85% of total domestic production. Monthly broiler production in March reached 125,470 tons, while stock levels stood at approximately 16,278 tons.

Production of large chickens weighing over 1,500 grams is nearing 77,000 tons. Four companies began producing this category at the start of the month, which is expected to enhance availability in markets. Daily table egg production exceeded 24 million eggs, including more than 10 million produced by the top 10 companies. Stock levels during March surpassed 26.6 million eggs, equivalent to approximately 74,000 cartons.
