UN Supports Saudi-Led Calls for Middle East Ceasefire, Spokesperson Tells SPA.

Riyadh: The United Nations affirmed its full support for efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Palestine, Lebanon, and all conflict areas in the Middle East, following the calls made by the Extraordinary Arab and Islamic Summit held in Riyadh. This summit was called for by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and chaired by His Royal Highness Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. According to Saudi Press Agency, UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric told the agency that the international organization continues to support all efforts to calm the situation in the region, including achieving a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon and the unconditional release of all hostages in Gaza. He pointed out that UN Secretary-General António Guterres continues to emphasize the importance of ending the Israeli occupation and implementing the two-state solution, which is considered a fair and lasting resolution to the Israeli-Palestini an conflict.
