Riyadh: Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistic Services Saleh Al-Jasser has called on Arab nations to strengthen their roles within key international transportation bodies, particularly the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the International Maritime Organization (IMO). According to Saudi Press Agency, Speaking at the 73rd Session of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Ministers of Transport, held at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport in Alexandria, Egypt, Al-Jasser emphasized the importance of unity and strategic involvement in global transportation organizations. 'The Council of Arab Ministers of Transport meets at a critical time, where joint efforts are essential to advance the global standing of Arab countries, especially in the transport sector,' he stated. Al-Jasser underscored that the presence of Arab countries in such international organizations extends beyond mere participation. He described it as a strategic investment in the future of t he region, contributing to a unified Arab voice on the global stage and fostering regional support on pivotal decisions. This, he added, could yield positive outcomes for economic development and regional security. He expressed optimism that these efforts would ultimately bring significant benefits to the Arab world, enhancing collective influence and ensuring sustainable growth across the region.
