Makkah: A total of 2,591 male and female volunteers from Umm Al-Qura University dedicated their time and efforts to serve Umrah performers during Ramadan 1447 AH, in an initiative managed by the university's Department of Volunteer Work and Social Responsibility to promote a culture of giving and community service.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the volunteers participated in 37 different activities across various locations within and outside Makkah, accumulating a remarkable total of 54,850 volunteer hours. Their contributions spanned multiple fields, most notably health, security, guidance, and awareness, as they provided organizational and field support in areas with high visitor and Umrah performer traffic during Ramadan.
The volunteer initiatives included offering guidance and direction, assisting with crowd management, providing first aid, distributing meals, and conducting awareness and educational programs. These efforts significantly enhanced the quality of services for Umrah performers and strengthened community preparedness during the holy month.
This volunteer movement reflects Umm Al-Qura University's commitment to supporting community initiatives and encouraging youth participation in humanitarian work.
