London: The Muslim World League has expressed approval of the United Kingdom’s announcement regarding its intention to recognize the State of Palestine and support the two-state solution. This announcement came from the British government, with Prime Minister Keir Starmer and UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Secretary David Lammy making the declaration during an international conference focused on resolving the Palestinian issue through peaceful means. The conference was chaired by Saudi Arabia in partnership with France.
According to the Union of OIC News Agencies, a statement from the League’s General Secretariat highlighted the significance of this development. Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, Secretary-General and Chairman of the Muslim Scholars Association, praised the UK government’s decision as a historic and pivotal step. He emphasized that this move represents a legitimate and responsible stance supporting the historical and legal rights of the Palestinian people, marking a pathway to achieving comprehensive and lasting peace in the region.
Sheikh Dr. Al-Issa also called on countries worldwide to fulfill their responsibilities regarding the injustices faced by the Palestinian people. He urged nations to adopt positions that support truth and justice, uphold international legitimacy, and address the ongoing humanitarian crisis, which has significant implications for regional and global stability.
