Mecca: The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque announced the successful completion of its operational plan for Ramadan 1446 AH, aimed at enhancing services and facilities for millions of worshippers and Umrah performers.
According to Saudi Press Agency, key achievements included the launch of a free hair-cutting service, improved luggage storage, increased availability of electric carts, and enhanced facilities for those observing itikaf. Effective crowd management and extensive iftar services further contributed to the plan's success.
The authority also emphasized enhancements in guidance services, including multilingual support, digital resources, and the operation of children's hospitality centers.
Operational services at the two holy mosques were enhanced, particularly in the last 10 days of Ramadan, with 24/7 zamzam water access, streamlined entry points, and dedicated entrances.
Reporting teams were increased, and essential systems-including escalators, air conditioning, and lighting-were maintained. Restrooms were upgraded, and environmental safety measures and weather monitoring were ensured.
The authority commended the cooperation with other government agencies, which played a key role in the successful implementation of the Ramadan plan.
