Transport Minister Briefs UK Foreign Secretary on Kingdom’s Airspace Management Efforts

Riyadh: Minister of Transport and Logistic Services and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) Saleh Al-Jasser, in the presence of GACA President Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, received UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs Yvette Cooper and her accompanying delegation at GACA's headquarters.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting covered air transport topics of mutual interest, the Kingdom's airspace management efforts, and air traffic management through advanced technological systems. The discussions aimed to strengthen collaboration between the two nations in air navigation and airspace management.

Al-Duailej and the UK foreign secretary's delegation visited the Area Control Center at King Khalid International Airport. During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the air traffic monitoring and airspace surveillance systems in place. The program also included a briefing by Saudi Air Navigation Services on its role in air traffic management, operational safety, and crisis management.

At the conclusion of the visit, both sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise in air navigation and airspace management. The meeting underscored the importance of international partnerships in ensuring the safety and efficiency of global air transport systems.
