Riyadh: The Ministry of Tourism has approved new policies and rules for registering workers and localizing activities in licensed tourism facilities across the Kingdom. This step is part of the ministry's efforts to expand employment opportunities for citizens, empower national cadres in the tourism sector, and enhance the quality of services provided.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the ministry explained that the new policies set out the requirements and procedures for localizing activities and registering workers in line with the issued decision. These policies cover all economic activities licensed by the Ministry of Tourism under the National Classification for Economic Activities.
The approved rules mandate that tourism facilities must register all workers with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development before work begins and ensure that employee contracts are documented under the contracting, secondment, or seasonal work system through the 'Ajeer' platform or other approved platforms. Facilities with multiple licensed branches must also register their workers in the file linked to each facility's tourism license within the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development's systems.
The policies further stipulate a ban on assigning or outsourcing professions subject to Saudization decisions to entities or workers outside the Kingdom. Any such outsourcing must be directed to establishments licensed by the Ministry of Tourism or by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development to assign Saudi workers. Additionally, the ministry requires the presence of a Saudi receptionist during working hours in all tourism and hospitality facilities.
The Ministry of Tourism stressed the importance of full compliance with these policies and rules, noting that violations will be monitored in cooperation with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development.
