Rome: The Tourism Development Fund, recognized as the national enabler of the tourism sector, actively participated in the 25th Global Summit of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), which was held in Rome. The summit saw the presence of over 1,200 participants, including ministers, CEOs, and leaders of various international organizations.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Tourism Development Fund CEO Qusai Al-Fakhri contributed to a session focused on enhancing the travel experience through smart investment, innovation, and effective public-private collaboration. He emphasized that sustainability should be seen not as a burden but as a vital driving force in creating a balanced tourism industry. This balanced approach seeks to harmonize economic growth with environmental protection, ensuring resilience and fostering long-term value for future generations.
On the sidelines of the summit, the fund made an important announcement regarding the release of its inaugural research paper. This paper underscores the critical role of integrating sustainability into the tourism industry as a core investment value. It highlights how sustainability can enhance profitability, mitigate risks, unlock new growth and innovation opportunities, and cater to the increasing global demand for authentic and sustainable travel experiences. This aligns with the objectives set forth by Saudi Vision 2030.
