Thunderstorms and Dust-Stirring Winds Forecasted for Parts of Saudi Arabia

Riyadh: The National Center for Meteorology has issued a weather forecast indicating thunderstorms in specific regions of Saudi Arabia, including Jazan, Aseer, Al-Baha, and Makkah. These areas will also experience strong winds capable of stirring dust, which are expected to extend into parts of Madinah. A decrease in temperatures is anticipated, along with a possibility of light rain in areas such as Tabuk, Hail, Al-Jouf, and the Northern Borders. Parts of the Eastern Region and the southwestern highlands of the Kingdom may also experience fog.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the wind patterns over the Red Sea will vary, with northerly to northwesterly winds blowing at speeds between 15-40 km/h in the northern and central regions. In contrast, the southern region will experience southerly to southeasterly winds at speeds of 10-32 km/h. Waves in the Red Sea are predicted to range from one to two meters, with the sea conditions fluctuating from calm to choppy.

In the Arabian Gulf, winds will shift from northwesterly to northeasterly, reaching speeds of 15-35 km/h. Wave heights are expected to range from half a meter to one meter, resulting in relatively calm sea conditions.
