Diriyah: The third edition of Diriyah Horizon youth summer program kicked off on Sunday, organized by the Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) in collaboration with several entities. The program aims to develop youth skills and promote cultural and national values.
According to Saudi Press Agency, it is held in collaboration with the King Abdulaziz Center for Cultural Communication, Saudi Space Agency, iLMI Science Discovery and Innovation Center, and Mahd Sports Academy, offering a well-rounded, applied learning experience to enrich participants and enhance the quality of learning outcomes.
The program reflects DGDA's commitment to advancing education and social responsibility by providing an engaging, interactive environment filled with diverse activities that foster participants' skills and capabilities. It aims to make a lasting positive impact on youth by shaping their thinking in ways that support their professional and intellectual development.
Running until August 21, 2025, the program features a wide array of activities across six specialized tracks inspired by the heritage and values of Diriyah. These include 14 workshops covering a range of disciplines.
The Leadership track offers three workshops focusing on debate skills, volunteerism, and public speaking. The Heritage track introduces archaeological excavation and traditional mudbrick construction techniques. The Creative Production track covers photography and filmmaking. The Science track includes workshops on water systems, soil science, sustainable energy, and aircraft design.
The Space track offers interactive workshops showcasing astronomy and space tech from past to present, and agricultural seasons in Diriyah. The Sports track features fencing and archery.
Held Sunday through Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., the program aims to cultivate a conscious and capable generation that embodies the spirit of Saudi youth and carries forward the authentic legacy of Diriyah. It seeks to instill pride, raise cultural and historical awareness, foster creativity and innovation, and develop practical solutions to real-world challenges.
Additionally, it enhances leadership skills, empowering participants to communicate effectively, make informed decisions, collaborate as a team, and gain experience across various domains.
