Third Date Festival in Sakaka Concludes with Participation from 40 Farmers

Riyadh: The Third Date Festival in Sakaka concluded today after four days of activities organized by the Al-Jouf branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, with the participation of 40 farmers, 22 families engaged in cottage industries, and a number of government and private entities and agricultural associations. According to Saudi Press Agency, at the festival's closing ceremony, General Supervisor of the Third Rutab Festival Dr. Oqab bin Mikhlif Al-Ruwaili honored the winners of the largest date bunch award. Farmer Munif Al-Sarhani won first place with a date bunch weighing more than 65 kilograms, followed by Abdulmalik Al-Sarhani in second place with 63 kilograms and Awaidah Al-Faihi in third place with 42 kilograms. Participating government and private entities, families engaged in cottage industries, and media representatives were also honored in recognition of their contributions to the festival's success. The festival featured entertainment and awareness programs as well as agric ultural activities for children, in addition to showcasing Al-Jouf Region's date production and supporting farmers.
