Under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and on behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Minister of Sport, chairman of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, and chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee of the Saudi Games Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal on Thursday attended the opening ceremony of the third annual Saudi Games. The ceremony took place at Boulevard Riyadh City and featured a royal anthem, a parade of participating athletes, and the raising of the Olympic and Paralympic Committee flags. Athletes took the sports oath, and the minister of sport officially declared the opening of the games, which will run from October 3 to 17. The tournament will showcase athletes competing in 52 individual and team sports, including seven Paralympic sports, 10 demonstration sports, and 15 youth sports.
