General

Riyadh: The Transport General Authority (TGA) underscored the importance of meeting safety requirements for student transport vehicles at the start of the new school year 1447 AH, affirming that adherence to these standards is essential for ensuring the safety of students during their daily commute.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the authority noted that licensed buses are fully equipped with safety systems, including tracking devices and protective equipment, while inspection teams continue to monitor compliance and address violations as part of efforts to provide safe and reliable transportation across the Kingdom.

The TGA added that student transport vehicles are required to meet several basic standards, such as carrying fire extinguishers and first aid kits, undergoing regular maintenance and inspections, and ensuring that drivers follow designated routes while supervising safe boarding and disembarking of students.

The authority also urged parents to instruct their children on proper safety practices when using school buses. It called on the public to report any violations or submit feedback through the unified call center (19929) or the beneficiary care account on the X platform.
