Riyadh: Students in general education across 11 educational regions and Al-Ahsa Governorate will return to classrooms on Sunday, marking the start of the 1447 Hijri academic year under an integrated governance framework aimed at improving educational efficiency and learning outcomes.
According to Saudi Press Agency, students in Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah, and Taif will resume their studies the following week, in line with the academic calendar. The Ministry of Education finalized preparations for the new academic year, completing readiness across 32,000 public schools in various regions and governorates.
The measures align with the ministry's strategic plan to empower schools and teaching staff, enhance operational efficiency, and strengthen governance by assigning all operations, maintenance, school environment quality management, and full facility readiness to Tatweer Education Holding Company.
The ministry's sectors coordinated their efforts to launch the new academic year, with all tasks assigned to the formed committees and relevant departments now complete. This coordination spans educational and administrative offices, schools, and field teams conducting site visits and continuous monitoring of work carried out within schools. This integrated system encompasses teaching, supervisory, and administrative staff.
The ministry emphasized at the start of the academic year its focus on strengthening values among students and the educational community by fostering national belonging, integrity in work, cooperation, tolerance, determination, and commitment within a motivating learning environment.
