Jeddah: The Transport General Authority (TGA) announced the holding of the second Sustainable Maritime Industry Conference (SMIC25) under the theme "Sailing Towards a Sustainable Future."
According to Saudi Press Agency, the conference will be held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Jeddah on September 3 and 4. It will be held under the patronage of Minister of Transport and Logistic Services and TGA Board Chairman Eng. Saleh Al-Jasser.
The announcement builds on the success of the first conference in 2023, which saw participation from more than 2,000 specialists and interested parties from 170 countries. The event included over 50 international experts and speakers who participated in dialogue sessions and strategic workshops. The initial conference marked a significant turning point in the global maritime sustainability agenda.
The two-day event will feature an open international dialogue that brings together maritime industry leaders and representatives from international organizations, government agencies, and the private sector. They will discuss challenges, opportunities, and technological and legislative transformations in the sector from a sustainability perspective.
