The Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) has set a new record during this year’s Hajj by pumping more than one million cubic meters of water to the holy sites on the Day of Arafah as part of its operational plan to maintain supply from its multiple sources to serve pilgrims and ensure their wellbeing.
Supported by the Water Transmission and Technologies Company, the SWCC managed to maintain a water reserve of 1.7 cubic meters through which the water requirements for the Hajj season were efficiently met, thanks to its strategic planning to increase the production capacity to supply Makkah and Madinah and the holy sites with more than 78.5 million cubic meters of desalinated water, simultaneously increasing strategic reserves during this year’s Hajj season to record levels of 6.3 million cubic meters in Makkah.
The SWCC continued to serve pilgrims during the days of Tashreeq after it managed to meet the increasing demand for water in light of the increase in the number of pilgrims and Hajj workers during the soaring temperature in Makkah and the holy sites.
