General

Riyadh: The Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Foundation, in collaboration with the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), has announced the initiation of the Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud International Linguistic Training Program. This initiative is set to enhance Arabic language education across Central Asian countries from September to December 2025.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the program aims to reinforce the global presence of the Arabic language while strengthening Central Asia's connection to Arab-Islamic culture. Key components of the program include training educators, developing curricula and training packages, and integrating modern pedagogical and linguistic approaches with educational technology.

The initiative will also introduce the 'Arabic Language Curriculum for Non-Native Speakers,' funded by the foundation, to educational institutions in the participating countries. The program intends to create a supportive environment for developing linguistic and communication skills, encouraging the use of formal Arabic, and fostering cultural cooperation between the participants and ICESCO experts.

The program will be implemented in six Central Asian countries: Bashkortostan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, targeting over 200 Arabic language teachers. An average of 35 participants from various educational institutions in each country will partake, with the program expected to significantly enhance their proficiency in teaching Arabic.

The foundation emphasized that this program is a strategic move to elevate the status of the Arabic language in Central Asia and to support its global promotion as a cultural and civilizational bridge that strengthens connections among nations.
