Stakeholders review preps to host World U20 Wrestling Championship

Head of the Lower House Education and Youth Committee, Talib Sarayrah, said Jordan has become “a nexus” of attention to practice various sports due to its “strategic” location. Sarayrah added that Jordan’s organization of the World U20 Wrestling Championship reflects importance of Jordan’s position, simultaneously calling on intensifying efforts to ensure success of the wrestling competitions. Sarayrah’s made the remarks while chairing the committee’s meeting on Wednesday, to discuss readiness of Jordan Wrestling Federation (JWF) to organize the forthcoming championship. Meanwhile, JWF chief, Mohammed Awamleh, said this “largest” event in the Kingdom affirms United World Wrestling (UWW)’s confidence in Jordan, calling on the concerned authorities to facilitate procedures for granting visas and other logistical matters. On its venue, Awamleh announced the tournament will be held at Princess Sumaya Hall in Al-Hussein Youth City.
