Sierra Leone President Engages with Saudi Fund for Development Delegation

Freetown: President Dr. Julius Maada Bio of the Republic of Sierra Leone welcomed a delegation from the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), led by Dr. Abdullah Al-Sakran, Executive Director of the Strategy and Development Sector. The meeting was also attended by Ali Alheji, Charg© d'Affaires at the Saudi Embassy in Sierra Leone.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting took place alongside the SFD's involvement in the Third Africa High-Level Forum on South-South and Triangular Cooperation for Sustainable Development. President Bio was briefed on the SFD's activities over the past four decades and its impact on development sectors within Sierra Leone.

Dr. Al-Sakran engaged in discussions with Sierra Leone's ministers of planning and economic development, health, and agriculture to explore potential development initiatives. The SFD has been involved in Sierra Leone since 1985, providing six development loans totaling over SAR218 million to support five projects and programs.
