Phnom penh: Shura Council Speaker Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh held official talks today with President of the National Assembly of Cambodia Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary at the National Assembly Palace in Phnom Penh.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the President of the Cambodian National Assembly welcomed Al Al-Sheikh and the accompanying delegation, expressing her appreciation for the visit and wishing them a pleasant stay in Cambodia. She emphasized that the visit represents a valuable opportunity to strengthen bilateral and parliamentary relations between the two countries.
Khuon Sudary praised the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's constructive role in promoting international peace and stability through its wise foreign policy. She also emphasized the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in enhancing cooperation across various sectors and deepening mutual understanding between the two nations.
For his part, Al Al-Sheikh expressed gratitude for the warm reception and generous hospitality. He underscored the significance of his visit in boosting ties between the Shura Council and the Cambodian National Assembly and reaffirmed the importance of mutual parliamentary visits in advancing bilateral cooperation.
He noted the ongoing progress in Saudi-Cambodian relations and emphasized the need to build on this momentum to elevate cooperation to broader levels. Al Al-Sheikh also outlined the rapid transformation taking place in the Kingdom under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in line with Vision 2030. He highlighted Saudi Arabia's efforts to diversify its economy and develop multiple sources of income across key sectors.
The two sides reviewed areas of cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Cambodia, particularly in the parliamentary field, and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral ties. They also affirmed the importance of activating parliamentary friendship committees and addressed several issues of mutual interest.
