SHARAKAH Program 2025: Transforming Saudi Arabia’s Water Sector through Youth Empowerment

General

Riyadh: In a national effort that reaffirms the Kingdom's belief that investing in human capital is the most valuable form of investment, the Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC) continues its pioneering journey in empowering Saudi youth through the SHARAKAH Program. This distinguished national initiative has become a model for developing competencies and building capabilities in the water sector, serving as a key contributor to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the SHARAKAH Program was launched to address a real gap in the labor market at a time when public-private partnerships (PPPs) are increasingly recognized as a cornerstone for developing infrastructure and enhancing service efficiency. The initiative reflects the company's conviction that knowledge transfer and the cultivation of national expertise in this specialized field are vital to ensuring the sector's sustainability and global competitiveness.

Over the past five years, the program has demonstrated its tangible impact by producing five cohorts of highly qualified national professionals who possess a deep understanding of partnership mechanisms and their financial, legal, and technical frameworks. Since its inception in 2020, more than 200 young men and women have graduated from the program, distinguished by their specialized knowledge and professional competence. Many of them have since joined leading public and private institutions, contributing to national projects that lie at the heart of the Kingdom's economic transformation.
