Makkah: Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) Chief Executive Officer Dr. Hisham Aljadhey inspected the readiness of SFDA's regulatory system overseeing factories and warehouses under its supervision in Makkah Region, as part of preparations to enhance food safety during the month of Ramadan.
According to Saudi Press Agency, during the visit, he accompanied inspection teams on field tours of several food factories and warehouses. Non-compliant establishments were closed in preparation for taking legal action against them in accordance with the Food Law and its implementing regulations.
The efforts included intensified oversight of production lines and verification of compliance with storage requirements and safe operational practices before products are released to the markets.
Dr. Aljadhey stressed the importance of ensuring food safety from factories and warehouses to market distribution, emphasizing that SFDA will not tolerate violations in any region of the Kingdom.
The SFDA is intensifying its inspections across the Kingdom, in cooperation with relevant authorities, to verify the quality of food products most consumed during Ramadan and ensure their compliance with approved health standards.
