Riyadh: Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) President Dr. Abdullah Alghamdi yesterday inspected the operations of the Smart Makkah Operations Center (SMART MOC), one of the key advanced operational pillars that enhances the Hajj ecosystem and supports coordination among government entities serving pilgrims. The center also strengthens crowd management and security capabilities at the holy sites.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Alghamdi reviewed the center's operational systems, including the Baseer platform developed by SDAIA in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior. He assessed its AI-based technical readiness and the effectiveness of real-time data analysis algorithms used for crowd monitoring and distribution within the two holy mosques, aiming to ensure smooth movement and uphold the highest safety standards.

He also examined the center's Sawaher and Sawaher Command platforms, which are integrated with the Ministry of Interior to provide smart analytics for surveillance camera feeds across the holy sites and access points. These platforms offer precise, real-time field monitoring and big data analysis to support decision-making and enhance security performance.

Alghamdi urged all SMART MOC teams to continue their utmost efforts, recognizing the immense responsibility of delivering a pioneering digital experience for pilgrims. This, he emphasized, reflects the wise leadership's commitment to serving pilgrims and ensuring their rituals are performed with the highest levels of quality and safety during this sacred season.
