Dhaka: Saudi female passport officers play a vital role in assisting pilgrims from Bangladesh, ensuring a smooth departure to the Kingdom through the Makkah Route Initiative lounge at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the Makkah Route Initiative, now in its seventh year, is implemented by the Ministry of Interior across seven countries: Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Morocco, Trkiye, and C´te d'Ivoire. The initiative aims to streamline pilgrims' Hajj travel by having visas issued electronically, collecting biometric data, and carrying out all travel procedures at the departure airports. This includes ensuring the pilgrims have a clean bill of health and coding and sorting baggage according to transportation and accommodation arrangements in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
