Saudi Scouts Begin Surveying Mina, Arafat for Hajj 1446 AH

Mina: Participants in the public service camps organized by the Saudi Arabian Scouts Association have begun surveying the holy sites of Mina and Arafat to gather vital field information from pilgrim service companies, hospitality and field service centers, domestic pilgrim companies, and government agencies, while also identifying key landmarks to assist lost pilgrims in coordination with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the survey process, involving more than 4,700 scouts, is conducted in three stages. The first stage focuses on preparation and equipping, which includes developing a plan and a survey program for scout units in Mina and Arafat. This allows the units to survey the designated areas within the holy sites in two shifts: morning and evening. During this phase, units and specialists prepare files, review and modify maps based on field conditions, and incorporate new coordinates as needed.

The second stage involves the actual survey, during which scout units and roving clans participating in the public service camps gather data in Mina and Arafat and record it using electronic applications. The collected data is then evaluated and compared with information provided by government institutions and Hajj service companies operating in both areas, before being entered into a central computer system.

The third and final stage consists of issuing the comprehensive guidebook, general maps, and detailed maps following thorough verification and review.
