Geneva: Prince Sultan University's College of Computer and Information Science faculty member Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Helali won a silver medal at the 2025 Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions, one of the world's leading platforms for innovation and applied research, adding to Saudi Arabia's global scientific portfolio.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Al-Helali's accolade recognizes his patented invention titled 'Two-Factor Authentication Using Molecular Communication: A System and Method,' which represents a groundbreaking advancement in securing implantable medical devices such as pacemakers. This innovative biological mechanism enhances device connectivity through molecular communication technology, bridging the fields of computer science and biomedicine.
This innovation was developed during Al-Helali's doctoral research at the University of Toronto, under the supervision of Prof. Ben Liang and in collaboration with Prof. Nidal Nasser from Alfaisal University, as part of a joint research project that resulted in a patent registration and ultimately led to this international recognition.
This victory was dedicated to Saudi Arabia and its leadership, as well as to the Ministry of Education, which participated in the exhibition and plays a vital role in supporting and empowering Saudi researchers both locally and internationally.
