Saudi Dates Go Global: SPL Stamp Celebrates Thriving Industry


Riyadh, Saudi Post (SPL), in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, has issued a new stamp highlighting the flourishing palm and date sector in the Kingdom.

This sector receives significant support from the ministry, particularly through the National Center for Palm and Dates. The ministry’s efforts have yielded impressive results, with Saudi date exports experiencing a 14% increase by the end of 2023, reaching a value of SAR1.462 billion. This growth marks a significant rise compared to SAR1.280 billion in 2022.

Saudi dates are now enjoyed in 119 countries worldwide. Even more remarkably, exports of dates and date by-products have surged by 152.5% since 2016. By the end of 2023, the value reached SAR1.462 billion, compared to SAR579 million in 2016. This translates to an impressive annual cumulative growth rate of 12.3%.
