Riyadh: The Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce hosted the Saudi-Canadian Infrastructure Business Forum in Riyadh today, bringing together more than 150 companies and key representatives from government and private sectors. The event was attended by Canadian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Jean-Philippe Linteau.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the forum explored investment and partnership opportunities in infrastructure across multiple vital sectors, reflecting the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening economic ties with Canada. Secretary General of the Federation Walid Al-Arainan highlighted the rapid growth of Saudi Arabia’s infrastructure sector, driven by Vision 2030 projects and 42 initiatives under the National Transformation Program. These initiatives span housing, mega projects, and infrastructure development in tourism, energy, telecommunications, and transportation.
Al-Arainan noted that Saudi Arabia’s infrastructure sector is projected to require investments of up to $1 trillion over the next decade, presenting significant opportunities for Canadian companies. Bilateral trade between Saudi Arabia and Canada reached approximately SAR12 billion in 2023, with Saudi exports accounting for SAR5.5 billion. Trade volumes are expected to witness substantial growth in the coming years.
