Abu dhabi: The 31st Arab Scout Conference, currently taking place in Abu Dhabi, elected Saudi Arabian Scouts Association Vice President Dr. Abdulrahman Almedaires as a member of the Arab Scout Committee. The vote took place Tuesday amid competition among several scout leaders from Arab associations.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the Arab Scout Committee is the executive body of the Arab Scout Region under the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), comprising seven elected members who serve a six-year term. The committee is responsible for safeguarding the interests of the scouting movement in the Arab world, implementing the decisions and recommendations of the conference, setting general policies, and approving plans and programs that support the spread and impact of scouting.
Almedaires' election continues the long record of prominent Saudi figures serving on the Arab Scout Committee since its establishment.
