Saudi Arabia Showcases Efforts at Ramsar COP15 Wetlands Conference

Victoria falls: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through its representation by the National Center of Wildlife (NCW), is actively participating in the 15th Conference of the Contracting Parties to the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands (COP15). This significant event is being hosted in Victoria Falls, Republic of Zimbabwe, from July 23 to 31, under the theme "Protecting Wetlands for Our Common Future".

According to Saudi Press Agency, Saudi Arabia is conducting a side event titled "Wetlands in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: Protecting Ecosystems and Advancing Sustainability." This event is designed to underscore the critical importance of wetlands within the Kingdom and their crucial role in conserving biodiversity. It aims to spotlight national initiatives focused on the preservation of these sensitive ecosystems, present innovative solutions for sustainable management driven by modern environmental data, and encourage the development of international and regional cooperation frameworks.

Additionally, the NCW is contributing to the conference through a special pavilion in the accompanying exhibition. This pavilion is intended to highlight prominent wetland sites across the Kingdom, such as salt flats, coastal areas, and mangrove forests. Through interactive content, it aims to emphasize the environmental, social, economic, and cultural significance of these diverse environments.
